There has been no official word on the cast of *Pirates of the Caribbean 6*, suggesting that the casting process may still be underway. If thatβs the case, producers could be considering Butler for a role but are still in negotiations or the early stages of discussion. However, itβs also entirely possible that Butler is being truthful and has not yet been approached by Disney regarding the project.
As a longtime fan of the *Pirates* franchise, Butler would have plenty of reasons to sign on. However, with the uncertain and controversial nature of the reboot, the slow-moving Margot Robbie-led *Pirates* film, and the lingering effects of the Depp-Heard case, the future of Jack Sparrowβs cinematic legacy remains unclear. If Butler were to join *Pirates of the Caribbean 6*, any official announcement would likely still be a long way off.
