Twilight star Gil Birmingham recently shared his surprise upon learning about the franchise’s upcoming animated adaptation, highlighting the series’ enduring popularity. Known for his diverse roles, including Chief Thomas Rainwater in Yellowstone, Birmingham portrayed Billy Black, the father of Jacob Black (Taylor Lautner), throughout the Twilight film series, which grossed over $3 billion worldwide. Despite the franchise’s dormancy since the conclusion of the Twilight Saga, a new animated adaptation is now in development for Netflix.
During an interview with Screen Rant’s Grant Hermanns about the Yellowstone finale, Birmingham expressed his astonishment at the news of the animated series. Reflecting on the franchise’s impact, he revealed that he continues to be recognized for his role as Billy Black.
