Kate Herron, the director of Disney+’s latest MCU series Loki, announced today that she has wrapped up the finishing touches on the show’s finale. Despite the fact that only two episodes have aired, Loki has already solidified itself as a hit, scoring the highest viewership of any Disney+ original series thus far (including non-Marvel properties such as The Mandalorian). Tom Hiddleston’s whimsical portrayal of the Norse God of Mischief has charmed audiences since the character’s debut in 2011’s Thor and continues to draw in audiences a decade later.
The series follows Loki after his brief cameo in Avengers: Endgame, in which he escapes from the Avengers’ custody using the Tesseract. Accosted by the Time Variance Authority for disrupting the preordained flow of time, Loki comes to learn the intricate mechanics of time travel alongside the happy-go-lucky TVA Analyst, Mobius (Owen Wilson). With the reveal of the fugitive Loki variant in last week’s episode, the show has proved itself to be an unpredictable ride.
