The inspiration behind this video:
A new video for Jungle Cruise offers a side-by-side look at the production of the film’s action sequences. The Dwayne Johnson and Emily Blunt-led adventure film is based on the iconic Disneyland ride of the same name. The story centers on 20th century riverboat captain Frank as he takes British scientist Dr. Lily Houghton and her brother McGregor on a journey in search of the Tree of Life to help benefit modern medicine. They do this while racing against a competing German expedition, wild animals, and other threats.
Alongside Johnson and Blunt, the cast for the film includes Édgar Ramírez, Jack Whitehall, Jesse Plemons, Paul Giamatti, and Andy Nyman. Development on a movie adaptation of Jungle Cruise has been underway since 2004, with Toy Story’s Tom Hanks and Tim Allen signing on to star in 2011, only for Disney to shift gears and redevelop the film with Johnson starring and Bad Santa duo John Requa and Glenn Ficarra rewriting the script. After taking a few years to further develop the project and land its all-star cast and director Jaume Collet-Serra, the time is nearly here for the adventure to begin.
