A young version of Princess Leia has reportedly been cast and will play a pivotal role in Disney+’s upcoming Star Wars series, Obi-Wan Kenobi. The highly-anticipated limited series will follow the titular character Obi-Wan (Ewan McGregor) during the character’s exile on Tatooine following the cataclysmic events of Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith. Although the show has largely been kept under wraps, details are beginning to emerge about Obi-Wan Kenobi’s plot and cast.
Ewan McGregor’s portrayal of the snarky Jedi master was one of the most universally praised aspects of the controversial prequel trilogy. For years, fans have been clamoring for Lucasfilm to release a movie or series based on the character’s exile so that McGregor could reprise his role. With the project finally coming to fruition, news of actors being cast as younger iterations of original trilogy characters is no surprise, and previously there were reports the show was looking to cast a young Luke and Leia. Now, Obi-Wan Kenobi may have found their Princess Leia..
