The inspiration behind this video:
Namor was originally teased in Black Panther’s post-credits scene, but Marvel made the right decision to delay his debut. 2018’s first Marvel Cinematic Universe movie exceeded all expectations and made it a no-brainer that Marvel would continue the franchise. It has now been revealed that director Ryan Coogler wanted to make the franchise’s future abundantly clear, as Black Panther’s post-credits scene nearly teased Namor as the sequel’s villain. Instead of teasing the arrival of another Marvel king, the MCU used Black Panther’s end credits to show Bucky waking up in Wakanda with Shuri ahead of Avengers: Infinity War.
The details on Coogler’s cool idea for a Namor post-credits scene in Black Panther have been teased by Kevin Feige. The scrapped Black Panther post-credits scene was going to show the throne room in Wakanda with wet footprints on the floor leading up to the throne. Namor was not going to appear in the scene, but the indication of the underwater Marvel anti-hero’s arrival would still be clear for comic fans. The scene would have immediately made it clear that Namor would be Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’s villain and eliminate any speculation about how Doctor Doom or others could fill that role.
