Following a major reveal in The Mandalorian season 3, the legendary Darksaber may have become much less important to the future of the series. The Darksaber is one of the most important artifacts in Mandalorian lore, because according to legend whoever wields it becomes the rightful ruler of Mandalore. It is currently in the hands of Din Djarin (Pedro Pascal), who won it after defeating the Imperial Remnant’s Moff Gideon (Giancarlo Esposito) – although he had no idea of its greater significance when he took it up. Ironically, though, the Darksaber may have just become a lot less important after a discovery by Bo-Katan Kryze (Katee Sackhoff).
In The Mandalorian season 3, episode 2, Bo-Katan discovers a living Mythosaur in the Living Waters of Mandalore, a massive creature long thought extinct which is revered by the Mandalorians. To viewers’ surprise, in The Mandalorian season 3, episode 3, Bo-Katan chose not to share her discovery with her fellow Mandalorians. The Mythosaur may actually be even more important than the Darksaber given the established Mandalorian lore.
