A House of the Dragon season 2 set photo may indicate a significant departure from the show’s source material. House of the Dragon season 2 filming has been underway since April and was permitted to continue production during the SAG-AFTRA strike due to most of the cast being represented by the UK’s labor union, Equity. The series is a prequel to Game of Thrones and is based on George R. R. Martin’s Fire & Blood book. Despite being based on the book, season 1 made a few changes to the source material, and season 2 may do so, too.
A House of the Dragon season 2 set photo shared by Redanian Intelligence seemingly hints at the return of wights. This is because the set photo shows a reference board labeled “Undead” sitting on a counter in a makeup booth for extras. Of course, “undead” immediately brings wights to mind, considering these creatures are reanimated corpses, raising the question of whether the Army of the Dead is returning after they were previously seen in Game of Thrones. If the photo indicates that wights will appear in House of the Dragon, it would mark a significant change from the books.
