Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire gets a new international trailer, revealing a new look at some of the film’s kaiju action scenes. Serving as a sequel to 2021’s Godzilla vs. Kong, the upcoming film from returning director Adam Wingard features the two titular titans teaming up to take down a new villain known as the Skar King. The film promises to be the most action-packed installment in Legendary’s Monsterverse yet as Godzilla and Kong are tested like never before.
2014’s Godzilla approached the titular monster in a much darker and more serious way than many of the sequels, and the kaiju was treated as a villain for a large portion of the film’s runtime. Trailers for Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire have affirmed that this new film won’t be taking that same approach. With Wingard returning as director, the upcoming sequel seems to most take after Godzilla vs. Kong, which put a big emphasis on bold, colorful action sequences.
