Marvel Studios head, Kevin Feige, says Loki is an intriguingly different Disney+ series and entry in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Tom Hiddleston’s days as the God of Mischief appeared to be over after Avengers: Infinity War, but his return in Avengers: Endgame paved the way for a new take on the beloved character. A version of Loki from 2012 escaped from the Avengers using the Tesseract, and this will result in the Time Variance Authority coming after him to help repair a broken timeline.
Loki will be the third MCU series to debut on Disney+ once it arrives in June. As high as expectations normally are for a new MCU project, the excitement for Hiddleston’s show has continued to grow beyond those levels as time has passed. Some of this is due to the cast and the expected story of Loki, but the quality of Marvel’s first Disney+ shows raised the bar too. WandaVision and The Falcon and The Winter Soldier have been wildly popular as fans dive back into the MCU after over a year without any movies. Marvel Studios’ usual approach to give each property a different style and tone has helped, as well, and fans should expect Loki to be quite unique.
