The latest trailer for Loki teases more of his mission for the TVA and that time will be an important factor in the story. It has been a month since the release of an entry in the MCU after The Falcon and the Winter Soldier wrapped and Black Widow is not set to release until July. Loki, debuting on June 9, will be the next installment in the MCU and it can’t get here soon enough.
Loki will follow the version of the character who escaped with the Tesseract at the end of Avengers: Endgame creating a branched timeline variant. Loki is captured by TVA, or Time Variance Authority, an organization responsible for keeping the timeline in check, who recruit him to clean up the mess he has made. Joining Loki are Mobius M. Mobius (Owen Wilson) and Judge Ravonna Lexus Renslayer (Gugu Mbatha-Raw), who in the comics has ties to Kang the Conqueror. With concepts of time and the multiverse set to play a major factor in upcoming projects like Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, Spider-Man: No Way Home, and What If…?, Loki could be setting up some major beats with ramifications for the entire MCU.
