Nick Fury and Black Widow take the spotlight in the new posters for What If…? episode 3. Marvel’s latest Disney+ series is off and running, and each week promises new surprises. What If…? takes a unique approach to the multiverse and explores different alternate MCU realities. The series premiere answered the question of what Captain America: The First Avenger would’ve looked like had Peggy Carter taken the super soldier serum. Last week’s episode 2 took What If…? in a drastically different direction by exploring a universe where T’Challa became Star-Lord. As those who watched it discovered, it looks very different than the MCU proper.
What If…? is only just getting started, as it has 9 episodes planned for season 1. A season 2 is also already in the works, and it will even explore the MCU’s Phase 4. Not much is known about the What If…? storylines beyond season 1, but there are several coming in the weeks ahead fans have gotten glimpses of. In one, a zombie outbreak will cause trouble for the Marvel universe, while another will see Iron Man partner up with Erik Killmonger. Not much is known about What If…? episode 3, but at least two characters have now been confirmed.
