Live-action adaptations could be in the cards for some episodes of What If…? Marvel’s foray into the streaming realm has be wildly successful so far. Both WandaVision and The Falcon and the Winter Soldier scored multiple Emmy nominations ahead of the ceremony later this year. Loki, which was released after the eligibility period, was the MCU’s most acclaimed series yet on top of being the series that most overtly set up the next part of Phase 4 by breaking the multiverse wide open. That multiverse will be explored in depth in the next Marvel and Disney+ series.
New images from What If…? episode 4 tease the series’ much-hyped Doctor Strange installment. As of Wednesday morning, Marvel’s newest Disney+ series is off and running. Following live-action adventures like The Falcon and the Winter Soldier and Loki, What If…? is the MCU’s first animated series. It’s also the first project to properly explore the multiverse, which was officially unleashed in the Loki season 1 finale. With the existence of multiple realities now confirmed, What If…? will dive into what the MCU could look like if certain events from the movies went a different way.
