The inspiration behind this video:
Black Panther: Wakanda Forever director Ryan Coogler is involved with Marvel’s Ironheart Disney+ show, according to one of its stars. Plans for the Marvel Cinematic Universe to expand to the small screen were confirmed in 2019 when Marvel Studios announced its first slate of Disney+ shows. Ahead of WandaVision’s debut in 2021, Marvel revealed plans for several other new MCU shows. This included the announcement of Ironheart and that Dominique Thorne would play the lead role of Riri Williams. Details on the show remained mostly under wraps afterward, although it is expected to release on Disney+ sometime in 2023.
As Ironheart gears up to start filming this summer, Marvel is in the midst of finalizing who is involved with the series. This includes making a few casting decisions as of late with Lyric Ross joining as Riri’s best friend and Anthony Ramos aboard as Ironheart’s mystery villain. While story details are not yet known, it has been revealed that this won’t be where Riri Williams makes her MCU debut. Kevin Feige previously confirmed that Dominique Thorne’s Ironheart is part of Black Panther 2’s cast, and set photos have offered brief looks at her involvement. Now, it appears that the connection between the sequel and the Disney+ show is stronger than previously known.
