The Mandalorian star Pedro Pascal recently teased that his character would become a leader in season 3. The live-action series debuted in 2019 and kicked off Star Wars’ next chapter on Disney+. Near-universal praise from critics and audiences alike has made the show the most-watched Star Wars series on the popular streaming service. The Mandalorian stars Pascal in the titular role as Din Djarin, the mysterious bounty hunter who cares for Grogu, a young Force user of the same unknown species as Yoda.
Season 2 finds Din on a quest to return Grogu to the Jedi, during which he encounters the Mandalorian warrior Bo-Katan Kryze (Katee Sackoff) and her cohorts, Koska Reeves (Sasha Banks) and Axe Wolves (Simon Kassianides), along the way. Din discovers that Bo-Katan aims to reunite the Mandalorians and rebuild their home planet following the Empire’s genocide of her people. However, Din finds himself the wielder of the Darksaber, an ancient Mandalorian Jedi weapon that grants its owner the right to rule Mandalore and its people, after defeating Moff Gideon in battle. Din’s acquisition of the Darksaber puts him at odds with Bo-Katan.
