The inspiration behind this video:

Martin Freeman, the actor who portrays Everett K. Ross in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, teases a much different MCU show with Secret Invasion. With the Marvel Cinematic Universe entering Phase 5, things are beginning to shift as they dig deeper into the Multiverse Saga. While the arrival of Kang is greatly anticipated, there are also high expectations for the Nick Fury lead miniseries Secret Invasion, which acts as a follow-up to the introduction of the Skrulls in Captain Marvel. There is very little information on the series, but based on its title, it is most likely a loose adaptation of the crossover event series from Brian Michael Bendis.

While talking with Digital Spy, Martin Freeman, who is also set to reprise his role of Ross in Secret Invasion, revealed that the series will be much different from previous MCU related shows. Freeman used the word “departure” when describing the new series and stated that it was “pretty dark… figuratively and literally”. He took pleasure in knowing that unlike the prior shows which had a heavier lean on comedy, Secret Invasion is going to come in with a stronger emphasis on drama and praised the new format.

“It feels pretty different to stuff I’ve seen. It does feel like a little departure. Yeah, it does – in ways that I wouldn’t be that able to describe. Again, I’ve not seen it. I’ve not even read all of it… The bits I’ve read do feel different, I guess: Because of the nature of television, you can luxuriate in things a little bit more. That storytelling process is just elongated. So you have got more time to get those knotty problems out, which is the beauty of television at the moment.”
