The inspiration behind this video:

Transformers: Rise of the Beasts is set to introduce two new robotic factions, the Maximals and the Terrorcons, begging the question of why they aren’t present in the other Transformers movies. While the continuity of both Bumblebee and Transformers: Rise of the Beasts in connection to Michael Bay’s films is confusing, Rise of the Beasts is confirmed to take place shortly after Bumblebee in 1994. This means it will serve as both a sequel to Bumblebee and a prequel to Michael Bay’s efforts.

As is evident by the film’s first trailer released at CCXP 2022, Transformers: Rise of the Beasts will take inspiration from the 1990s CG-animated show Beast Wars. This means introducing the Maximals, a race of Transformers who transform into giant animals rather than vehicles. They are split into the Maximal and Terrorcon factions, with the latter being a subset of Decepticons created using dead Transformers and dark energon. Many are left wondering why the two factions did not appear in both Bumblebee and later in the timeline, beginning with Bay’s Transformers.
