Following the events of Thor: Love and Thunder, Thor is at a much better place in life, having solved his trauma with past love Jane Foster and now being the father figure of a powerful young girl. Thor can potentially now meet again with the Guardians of the Galaxy to help out with their impending fight against Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3’s High Evolutionary. However, Gunn has said Thor was never meant to be in the movie, so he likely won’t appear.
Still, there is one way the final film in the trilogy connects to how Thor and the Guardians meet again in the MCU. After Thanos’ snap erased all the Guardians but Nebula and Rocket, Thor grew incredibly close to the raccoon in Avengers: Endgame. Thor could meet the remaining members after Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 in a funeral, if Rocket Raccoon’s rumored death happens. Otherwise, the next logical time they might cross paths is in either or both Avengers: The Kang Dynasty or Avengers: Secret Wars, depending on which of the cosmic heroes survive to that point.
