The Inspiration behind this video:

Scar seemed to be the only animal in the Pride Lands that didn’t adore King Mufasa. He led his people with bravery, kindness, and fairness. He loved his son with all his being and handled the precocious Simba in all the best ways. Additionally, his dependence on individuals like Rafiki and Zazu demonstrated that he didn’t prioritize only his wisdom but recognized that it took the work of many to run a kingdom. All in all, he seemed perfect.

Still, would Scar have hated Mufasa if this were the case? Again, it can be assumed that nothing the king had ever done would have justified his murder, but it could be that Scar knew something that no one else did. Mufasa had the fatigued energy of someone who had learned a lot of lessons the hard way, but this has never been seen on screen. Just as understanding the origin of Scar’s jealousy will help round out his character, seeing that Mufasa isn’t all-knowing and perfect would help “humanize” him for audiences. Regardless of the answers, it can be hoped that Mufasa: The Lion King will address these questions.
