The mysterious “Thing” is killing off members of an Arctic research outpost one by one, then disguising itself among the researchers. MacReady (Kurt Russell) has just realized that the individual parts of “the Thing” are each their own life form, so he proposes an ingenious test. He tests each surviving researchers’ blood with a hot wire to see whose blood comes to life, in what is perhaps the tensest scene in one of the most high-tension movies of all time.

Synopsis:
Horror-meister John Carpenter teams Kurt Russell’s outstanding performance with incredible visuals to build this chilling version of the classic The Thing. In the winter of 1982, a twelve-man research team at a remote Antarctic research station discovers an alien buried in the snow for over 100,000 years. Once unfrozen, the form-changing alien wreaks havoc, creates terror and becomes one of them.
