Inspiration behind this video:

There is a lot to be excited about with Maslany’s role in Invincible season 2. Her claim to fame, Orphan Black, saw her playing multiple clones within the same show, all with distinct voices and accents. Orphan Black showed Maslany’s incredible ability to do gymnastics with her voice to fit a character, which is impressive on its own, even if aided by the physicality of those characters. Between her time in the Invincible universe and the MCU, and her extensive experience assuming different voices, Maslany is sure to create two distinct and unique characters in both Queen Aquaria and General Telia.

These two characters also point to Invincible season 2’s increased focus on extraterrestrial universes. Comic and show creator Kirkman recently mentioned that Invincible season 2 will “start to dip [its] toe more into the cosmic aspects of the show.” A Coalition of Planets General and Atlantean queen will do just that, setting up an interesting Invincible season 2 that leaves planet Earth behind.
